What do you think?
OK so I have three projects on the go right now, only one of which you have actually seen. And then I want to make OH the bear quilt.
I’ve been thinking though, I would kinda like to make another pixel quilt. OH says I should go for smaller pixels so I am thinking 3/4″ finished squares, otherwise there will be as much fabric in the seam allowances as in the top if I go smaller. It’s probably not going to happen this side of Christmas but I like to think ahead, and this is where you come in.
Who do I make a quilt of? I’ve decided to limit myself to someone British, an entertainer and someone still alive, and that’s pretty much it. Part of me thinks it should be a woman this time, but I don’t want to miss a fab idea by dismissing the male gender completely. I also would like it to be of someone who was around any time from 1990 to the present day rather than going more historic than that. My list in my head at the minute is…
French and Saunders
Bill Bailey
Celia Imrie
Rowan Atkinson as Blackadder
Any other suggestions, or votes for any of the above?

What about Miranda Richardson as Queenie in Blackadder?

Oh, that French and Saunders one would be brilliant! And a duo would be different, too.

I like the idea of French and Saunders, but i think nick frost and simon pegg as the officers from hot fuzz would be cool

Being completely selfish, I vote for Benedict Cumberbatch!!!

my votes in order:

2. Matt Goss from Bros

I’m thinking you’re going to reject my ideas…

Reading some of the comments made me choke on tea from laughing… French/Saunders and blackadder Atkinson are classics.
Ideas….. What about Richard Osman or the bakeoff duo (obviously not in their naff humour trying too hard bbc one bakeoff but earlier…)

Victoria wood? And it’s a dreadful shame rik mayall is dead :-/
Out of your list though I’d go French and Saunders. Well actually I wouldn’t, because I have no patience for such things, but I think you could.
Oh and also commissierations on the tragic underappreciation of billy bass xx

Catherine Tate? I’m biased. Donna is my favorite companion.

Hmm, so none of Monty Python’s Flying Circus, or Spike Milligan then (which is a shame, he has a fabulously characterful face) Two Ronnies are out too, ummmm, Alan Davies to go with Stephen Fry?

Loved seeing all the comments–I can see I am out of the loop on British culture so anything I suggest would be silly. It will be fun to see what you choose!

Hugh Laurie as House. Karen Gillan – Amy in Dr. Who. Don’t go smaller than 3/4″, the quilt would be so heavy. I am thinking of trying differently shaped “pixels” one day soon.

Out IG your list I think I’d have to go with French & Saunders but I’m loving Wendy’s idea of Mr Blobby!

I second Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock, for a woman how about Joanna Lumley? I love her as Patsy!

Anything Blackadder would be the best, and I particularly like the idea of Miranda Richardson as Queenie, she was hilarious! Don’t do Cumbersnatch, he’s way too new/faddy, and barely been on the scene 5 mins (although brilliant in Sherlock) :o)

Wendy made me laugh – I love that comment!
I’m with Ella – Catherine Tate – Am I boovered?
I do like French and Suanders – maybe a vicar of dibley or ab fab?
Man I love British Comedy… love love love.
Can’t wait to see this come together.

I’m not even close to knowing British pop culture so I can’t offer much but distance thought – I like Leanne’s options [Hugh Laurie or Karen Gillan] and Nic’s [F&S or Nick Frost and Simon Pegg]… and then there’s anything Sherlock. Red Dwarf? Vicar of Dibley? Of the four you posted, Celia Imri would look the most stunning in pixels. [Downton Abbey in pixels would be interesting…]
